Class Consequences Clip Chart
All students start the day on All Star. As students make poor choices their clips will move down the chart and a Stop and Think will be issued. Students will also complete a time out sheet. Students are encouraged to make the best of their learning time.
A Stop and Think is a gentle reminder to:
1. STOP whatever you are doing
2. THINK about what you should be doing
3. Make a right choice
Positive Reinforcement: Just as there are negative consequences for misbehavior, there will also be positive consequences for individuals or the class for excellent behavior. These incentives could include: pizza party, treasure box, game day, video time, positive note home, verbal praise, and individual rewards. To maintain motivation, positive consequences will be given at random throughout the year. This will help maintain interest and good effort among the class.
In addition for being rewarded for individual and group behavior, students will also have an opportunity to earn whole class rewards. When ever our class receives a compliment from another teacher, parent, administrator, or adult the class will have the opportunity to play Behavior Bingo.
Each compliment received will also the class to draw 2 numbers to play Behavior Bingo. The teacher will draw 2 numbers at random and fill in those spaces on our Behavior Bingo board which is a hundreds chart. If an administrator gives the class a compliment, the class will be allowed to draw 5 numbers. If it came from the principal the class will draw 10 numbers. If a number has already been called, a student will be chosen at random to decide which number to fill in on the board. Once the entire row is full, the class will receive a special reward.
Skyward
This is our school information system for students and parents. It can be accessed from any computer that has internet access. Students will log on through our school website under the skyward tab.
Lateness & Absenteeism
In order for your child to receive a well-balanced education his/her attendance is crucial to his/her success. All students are expected to arrive by 8:45 am every day. While situations do arrive, and we are cognoscente of that, yet chronic offenders will be subject to discipline. In the event that your child is late or absent a note is required. Students will be required to make up work that is missed. Students will not be tracked down and given work, it is their responsibility. They will be assigned a missed work buddy that will help them copy missed assignments and parents can email me to have missed work put aside to be picked up or sent home with a friend as well. Students can check the missed work binder in the classroom for missed assignments.
